Half way to history- Chicago friends feed the bus

After 12 hours on the bus. Our road weary crew were ready for a much needed break off the bus. Where better to stretch our legs than the “other” Windy City, Chicago?

Our friends at the Kateri Center, a faith based community center that serves the urban American Indian population invited us into their center to eat, laugh and feel proud about our journey.

Kateri center staff Georgina Roy greeted us with hugs, opened the meal with a prayer and said that she and those in Chicago within the center will keep us in their prayers and hearts. Leaving Chicago was necessary, and we are thankful to the generosity of Georgina, Jolene Aleck, Charlie Roy, Lisa Bernal and all the volunteers for a great meal!
